“I grew up in the jazz Manouche circles, which are dominated by swarms of guitarists – it’s not always easy to fit in as a singer! Most of the music has no lyrics, and the melodies are often too guitaristique to be sung. The microcosm fascinated me and I too wanted to participate in the Django repertoire… I saw only one option: I had to write my own lyrics, tell my own stories, reinvent his music in my own image.”

Wawau Adler calls his new album "I Play With You." He changes playfully between the Selmer No. 828, a classical guitar from the forties, over modern types to the electric guitar. Finally, the title could also refer to the repertoire that is played here: After Adler has interpreted in his earlier recordings mainly standards - his last album "Happy Birthday Django 110", released two years ago, was, for example, explicitly dedicated to his and the great role model of all gypsy jazz guitarists Django Reinhardt. Steeve LAFFONT grew up in France in a family of Sinti , originally from Italy, now based in Perpignan. Self-taught, he began playing piano at 6 years and his uncle Mario PETRICCIOLI bought him his first guitar three years later. That’s when the passion for music and especially for his new instrument actually begins. It discovers and learns a natural harmonies and rhythms of the original music of Django Reinhardt when he then added his compositions, influenced by the rhythms of modern jazz. It’s only a few years, a level that allows him to play during musical evenings with family and friends with the greatest jazz manouche: Tchavolo Schmitt, Bireli Lagrene, Raphal Fays, Stochelo Rosenberg and Boy Bauer.

Formé de Christian Roberge (voix et guitare), Byron Mikaloff (guitare) et Alex Morrissette (contrebasse), le groupe a été l’une des révélations du printemps dernier au Québec. Avec comme carte de visite le coloré et entraînant disque Lost in the 80’s, les trois musiciens se sont rapidement forgés une impressionnante horde de fans.

Renaud Pierre Manuel Séchan, known as Renaud (born 11 May 1952), is a popular French singer, songwriter and actor. His characteristically 'broken' voice makes for a very distinctive vocal style. Several of his songs are popular classics in France, including the sea tale "Dès que le vent soufflera", the irreverent "Laisse béton", the ballad "Morgane de toi" and the nostalgic "Mistral gagnant".
