Many Valued Algebras

In recent years, the discovery of the relationships between formulas in Łukasiewicz logic and rational polyhedra, Chang MV-algebras and lattice-ordered abelian roups, MV-algebraic states and coherent de Finetti’s assessments of continuous events, has changed the study and practice of many-valued logic. This book is intended as an up-to-date monograph on infinite-valued Łukasiewicz logic and MV-algebras.

This book presents the first algebraic treatment of quasi-truth fuzzy logic and covers the algebraic foundations of many-valued logic.

This book is concerned with cardinal number valued functions defined for any Boolean algebra. Examples of such functions are independence, which assigns to each Boolean algebra the supremum of the cardinalities of its free subalgebras, and cellularity, which gives the supremum of cardinalities of sets of pairwise disjoint elements.
