Label: Polydor Stereo 184039 | 5% recovery record | Instrumental, latin, brass

Mexican music was one of Delgado's best. More than 50% of his big band was "brassy". Rich Mexican "mariachi" sound. Enjoy an LP that remains fresh and delightful though recorded almost half a century ago.

Rock & Roll / Twist / Western Swing | Running Time - 475:55 minutes | Label: Bear Family Records | Cat. # BCD 16157 FI

This is a collector's dream. All of Bill's American recordings of the 60s are here, and a lot of unreleased stuff too, recorded with after his departure at U.S. Decca Records. In a general sense, the music on the six CD's changes progressively from the first one until the last because Haley tries diferent kinds of styles and all this is obvious because the decade starts with some 50's influence and ends with the "Rock and Roll Revivals". Although he didn't reach the charts any more, his musical output was enormous and differed from good old Rock'n'Roll, Twist and Country & Western even to a Mariachi song.

Lindi Ortega "has always been the sonic embodiment of the red cowboy boots she's often seen wearing: a fiery and dramatic take on modern country that's impossible to ignore" (Rolling Stone Country), and her fifth studio record 'Liberty' is no exception.

Les Luthiers - Volumen 4 (1976)

Les Luthiers is a comedy-musical group from Argentina, very popular also in several other Spanish speaking countries such as Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Venezuela. They were formed in 1967 by Gerardo Masana, during the height of a period of very intense choral activity in Argentina's state universities. Their outstanding characteristic are the home-made musical instruments (hence the name luthiers, French for "musical instrument maker"), some of them extremely sophisticated, which they skillfully employ in their recitals to produce music and texts full of high class and refined humor.

Rock / Garage Rock / Psychedelic Rock

Both sides of all six of Zakary Thaks' singles are on this last-word compilation, along with three instrumental versions of tracks from the 45s. All of this material has been reissued before on Eva's J-Beck Story 2, with the exception of instrumental versions of "Face to Face" and "Green Crystal Ties." Still, this marks the first time everything's been available in this fidelity in the U.S., bolstered by the inclusion of a lengthy interview with lead singer Chris Gerniottis in the liner notes. It takes its place as one of the very best single-artist '60s garage reissues, the songwriting and musicianship at a far higher level than most '60s garage bands could boast, with just as much insouciant youthful energy.
