Marine Pollution – Monitoring, Management and Mitigation by Amanda Reichelt-Brushett
English | EPUB (True) | 2023 | 373 Pages | ISBN : 303110126X | 105.7 MB

The study of marine environments inevitably involves considering the problem of marine pollution, which includes questions that focus on the essential need to ensure the long-term health of these exceptional ecosystems and the lives and livelihoods they support. The textbook "Marine Pollution: monitoring, management and mitigation" approaches these questions in a practical and highly readable format. It gives newcomers to the field background and perspective through the first comprehensive, multidisciplinary exploration of the topic. The topic is indeed complex, requiring the integration of the natural sciences and chemistry with management, policymakers, industry and all of us who are users of the marine environment.

Marine Technology

Marine Technology by Raden Sjarief Widjaja, Hasanudin, Yuda Apri Hermawan, Azman Ismail, Fatin Nur Zulkipli, Andreas Öchsner
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 134 Pages | ISBN : 3031677870 | 35.8 MB

This book explores a variety of research topics in marine technology delving into a wide array of crucial research topics within the maritime industry and its technology, encapsulating the latest research findings presented at The 8th International Conference on Marine Technology (SENTA 2023). It provides the exchange of recent knowledge, experiences, and innovations in the field of marine science and technology encompassing naval architecture and technology; marine system and safety; ocean, coastal, and offshore engineering; shipping, port, and maritime logistics; underwater technology; and advanced technology in maritime industry. This book covers studies ranging from ship design and production technique comprising ship design process, ship hydrodynamics, ship structure and advanced ship material, and ship management and production technology. The book also examines the invention in marine operation, marine machinery and maintenance system, and marine safety including digital technology in marine system and safety. It also addresses the topics on coastal, ocean, and offshore technology starting from coastal/offshore hydrodynamics, ocean energy, mooring line analysis to offshore structure analysis. In addition, shipping, port, and marine logistic researches are also conveyed in this book especially on shipping operation optimization, port development, green port, and smart shipping development. Moreover, underwater technology and advanced technology in marine industry i.e. computer vision technology for underwater vehicles, digital technology on ship design and production, and advanced computer technology in port and shipping development are discovered. In overall, this book offers a cradle for the exchange of ground-breaking ideas, fostering collaboration, and potentially setting the stage for significant developments in the marine technology.
Pattern Dynamics of Marine Plankton Behavior: Nonlinear Dynamics Applications (Repost)

Pattern Dynamics of Marine Plankton Behavior: Nonlinear Dynamics Applications by Shu Tang Liu , Li Zhang
English | EPUB (True) | 2024 | 405 Pages | ISBN : 9819753686 | 130.4 MB

To ultimately address this serious issue, this book begins with the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of marine plankton, focusing on the dynamic behavior of both two-dimensional and spatiotemporal patterns. As a critical foundation of marine ecosystems, the frequent outbreaks of marine phytoplankton and the toxicity of planktonic animals pose significant threats to marine ecological security and human health. One of the primary reasons we currently struggle to effectively manage the safety issues surrounding marine plankton is the extremely complex nature of their growth environment, which exhibits intricate dynamic and nonlinear characteristics. By constructing reaction-diffusion models and fractional diffusion systems of the planktonic ecosystem, the book characterizes the various factors in different environments and studies the nonlinear behavior of marine organisms. Employing linear stability theory, multi-scale analysis, comparison principle, analytical techniques, and the construction of Lyapunov functions, the book delves into the following topic: the stability of the plankton ecosystem, Hopf bifurcation, Turing bifurcation and other local bifurcations, spatial self-organization behavior of marine plankton, the formation of spatiotemporal patterns, and the persistence and extinction properties and characteristics. Marine ecology and the marine environment are currently hot research topics internationally, with the behavior of marine organisms being a core area of this research. The goal of exploring these issues is to scientifically understand the features of marine organisms, control their behavior, manage ocean pollution effectively, contribute to human development, and support social advancement. Additionally, the authors aime to make academic contributions and provide guidance to graduate students and researchers dedicated to this field.
