Master Dominic

Born in Argentina to an American father and Irish mother, guitarist Dominic Miller was raised in the U.S. from age 10 and then educated there and in England. Now he lives in France, though he has toured the globe for the past three decades. Aptly, "Silent Light" Miller's ECM debut, featuring him solo and with percussion accompaniment has a very international feel, with the Latin influence strong in such pieces as Baden (dedicated to Brazilian guitarist-composer Baden Powell).

Dominic Cheli (26) won first prize at the Concert Artists Guild Competition and was named winner at Music Academy of the West Concerto Competition in 2017.

"Saint Dominic's Preview"is the sixth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It was released in July 1972 by Warner Bros. Records. Rolling Stone declared it "the best-produced, most ambitious Van Morrison record yet released."

With Absinthe, his second release for ECM, guitarist Dominic Miller has created an album coloured by a distinct atmosphere. "The first thing that came to me before I wrote any tunes was the title," he says. "Living in the South of France, I am fascinated by Impressionism. Sharp light and witchy mistrals, combined with strong alcohol and intense hangovers must have driven some of these artists toward insanity. Skies that are green, faces blue, perspective distorted."

Dominic Miller has been called "a great, serene storyteller" (Peter Ruedi, Weltwoche), and Vagabond, the guitarist's third recording for ECM, might prove his most poetic tale to date, as he creates striking melancholy textures fronting a quartet with Ziv Ravitz on drums, long-time associate Nicolas Fiszman on bass and pianist Jacob Karlzon.

Dominic Alexander Charles Lewis is an Annie Award-nominated English film and television composer best known for The Man in the High Castle, DuckTales, Money Monster, Rough Night, Fist Fight, How to Train Your Dragon, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and X-Men: First Class. He has also composed scores for multiple studio films and network television shows.
