The third and final instalment in RMFTM's mind-blowing Subversive trilogy ? following their incendiary Fuzz Club Session and recent collab album with Gnod, under the Temple ov BBV pseudonym. Throughout the series the Dutch art-punk/krautrock collective have sought to deconstruct and rebuild their creative process, pushing themselves to the limit with each and every release. Subversive III concludes the series and see's them take on their most sonically challenging form yet ? angular, incessant and industrial, the new long-player is an immense collision of noise, drones and feedback morphed into a collection of tracks that mercilessly blurs the line between techno and kraut with subtle psychedelic nuances bleeding through the relentless stabs of feedback, crushing synths and thunderous rhythms.

Pour Alia Mens, interpréter cette musique aujourd'hui n'est pas seulement affaire de connaissance. Il s'agit de retrouver cette énergie de persuasion incroyablement intense qui est à la source de cette musique et permet à l'auditeur comme à l’interprète de s'arracher du quotidien pour nous propulser dans la puissance révélatrice de l'instant.
L’œuvre que Bach conçoit, issue d’un texte, a la capacité (quasi fantastique quand on interroge au plus près les ressorts que la musique exerce sur nous) d’animer, littéralement, une description scénique, de donner chair et os à une pensée, de rendre audible l’ineffable. Afin que musique et langage puissent réaliser ce qu’aucun des deux ne peut faire séparément.
Cette quête, comme l'essence de cette musique, va au-delà de la recherche du beau et n'a rien à faire avec le divertissement, mais plutôt avec ce qui semble être un espace capable de renouveler l'être.

Winter Sun er et rendyrket soloprojekt, hvor Katrine Madsen akkompagnerer sig selv på flygel, og det er første gang, sangeren med den varme og inderlige stemme vælger selv at sørge for både vokal og musik. På sine hidtidige album har Katrine Madsen altid optrådt sammen med orkestre af varierende størrelse og sammensætning. Med ’Winter Sun’ tager hun et skridt væk fra dette setup og placerer sig i gruppen af jazzvokalister, som gennem tiden har akkompagneret sig selv.

'The Best Of And More' is a compilation of one of the best-selling artists from the Netherlands with the sales of over five million records. Born and raised in the old center of Amsterdam he started his first performances in the pub of his parents. After winning a song contest he released his very first single called "My Hitparade", a medley in 1984. With the release of "Winter In America" a year later he scored his first top 5 hit in Holland. His first number one hit (and triple platina) was sang in Dutch, called "Alles Kan Een Mens Gelukkig Maken". Switching back to the English language he released his second album and new single called "You're My Everything" remixed by Pete Waterman.

If Liza Minnelli never had much success as a recording artist, the reason may have been that she was too busy to give that aspect of her career sufficient attention. In the minds of both her audience and the record companies for which she recorded, the other areas of her career actively competed with her recording role. Consider her 1974 album Tropical Nights. Though she had been recording for Columbia Records since the Top 20 success of the Liza with a "Z" TV soundtrack in 1972, the release was her first non-soundtrack, non-cast studio album in four years, since 1973's Liza Minnelli, The Singer. It was sandwiched between her appearances in the movie musical New York, New York (which opened in June and had a soundtrack album on United Artists), and the stage musical The Act (which opened in October and had a cast album on DRG).

Muse to the Parisian literary scene of the '50s, godmother of songwriter-led '60s French pop, and a self-reinventing torch singer from the '70s into the 2010s, Juliette Gréco was one of the great French recording artists of the 20th century. Born in Montpellier in 1929, Gréco was classically trained at the Paris Opera as a youngster. Forced to flee Paris at the outbreak of the Second World War, and practically orphaned when her mother was jailed for her resistance to the Nazis in 1943, Gréco sought refuge with her former French teacher in the St. Germain des Prés quarter of Paris. In the later years of the war, the literary and artistic world of the Left Bank was flourishing, and Gréco became a fixture in this world, befriending Sartre and other writers of renown, and appearing in the theater and on a literary radio show. Her experiences of hardship in the war had influenced her politics and sowed the seeds for the great liberation she flaunted after the war, becoming the pinup for the so-called bohemian scene.

In the framework of its partnership with the Académie of the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Alpha presents the recital of a Norwegian soprano already well known in opera houses and especially for her interpretations of Mozart heroines whom she embodies under the direction of the greatest conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt and René Jacobs. For this first recital, which she recorded with another eminent member of the Aix Académie, pianist Alphonse Cémin, she has chosen a programme combining her roots, with Grieg and Agathe Backer Grøndahl (1847-1907), pianist-composer born in 1847 of whom we discover a few songs, and those masters of the German Lied Richard Strauss et Hugo Wolf in whose songs her pure, luminous voice works wonders.
