The first time I heard Carlos Gardel was in my maternal grandmother’s voice. She enjoyed singing, and used her beautiful, light soprano voice mostly to entertain herself while doing chores.

"Hoy salió este trabajo fundamental en mi camino. Un disco cuyos comunes denominadores a lo largo de toda su concepción fueron el placer y la emoción. Placer porque se trató de intervenir una música inapelable, inmejorable. Emoción porque el único modo que encontré de intervenir esta música fue mediante mi propia historia. De mi infancia contada a través de la música de este "Mago" que todo lo cambió."

On this CD, Viola da Gamba (Ensemble Art d'Echo under the direction of Juliane Laake) and Bandoneon (Lothar Hensel) meet: the 17th and 20th centuries tell alternately and in each case in their very own language and form, finally in the tonal language of the 21st century to connect directly with each other and to open up new dimensions in a contemporary composition.

Memorias I: Memorias is clair-obscur’s birthday present for Astor Piazzolla, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2021. A manera de memorias is the title of Argentinean author Natalio Gorín’s anthology of interviews with Astor Piazzolla from the 1990s.
