On the flip side of the days of northern darkness are the endless sub-Arctic summer nights, where the midnight sun never sets and Finnish nightlife is brilliantly illuminated. Here happiness has a deeper meaning. This is where Finland’s Death Hawks have spread their unique wings, phoenix-like, on their fourth full-length album Psychic Harmony. Stemming from a rich foundation of euphoric stage shows that has seen the band electrify and joyously anaesthetise their audiences at home and abroad over the years since their inception in 2011, with luxurious synths, psych-blues and climactic jazz sections, this is the quartet’s bravest and most eclectic trip into the unknown so far.

Jazz pianist and drummer Wolfgang Mitschke became known to a wider audience with the fusion jazz albums "Night Over Berlin" (in 2005) and "Midnight Moods" (in 2008) released on the jazz label SKIP-Records. On these albums Wolfgang Mitschke already knew how to use today's technical possibilities "single-handedly" with perfectly sampled sounds, playing the piano and the electric piano, the bass, the rhythm guitar, the strings and the drums so organically that a round sound picture was created.

he mythological status of 1969’s Woodstock Music and Arts Festival can sometimes feel overpowering. The festival is the ultimate expression of the 1960s. Moments from the three-day concert have crystallized as symbols of the era, with details like Richie Havens’ acoustic prayer for freedom, Roger Daltrey’s fringed leather vest, or Jimi Hendrix’s “Star Spangled Banner” held up as sacred countercultural relics.
