November 7, 1968 went down as a special date in the history of the Berlin Jazz Days, which is full of highlights. On this memorable evening, Dizzy Gillespie visited the city on the Spree, which in itself was a cause for joy for every jazz fan, as the incomparable trumpeter was one of the few remaining constants in modern jazz at the time.

High Life is the second album by Frankie Miller. It was produced by Allen Toussaint, who also composed seven songs on the album. "Play Something Sweet (Brickyard Blues)" was almost immediately covered by Three Dog Night and "Shoo Rah" was covered by Betty Wright – and both tracks become chart hits.

We have officially put the summer hole in the music industry behind us, as a lot of new compilation will be released in the coming weeks. Even though the fanbase for this compilation is not quite so big, every summer has its place in the German compilation charts.
