Caecilie Norby and Lars Danielsson are the dream couple of jazz – in the truest sense of the word. Being a couple also in “real life”, two of the most popular and recognized musicians in European jazz now present their first duo album ever. This is the second edition of my “Sounds of 3” recordings, the first one released, also on Losen Records, August 2016, with Norwegian Frode Alnœs on guitar and the Cuban drummer, Giraldo Piloto. On this second edition I am thrilled and proud with having the Swedish, guitarist extraordinary, Ulf Wakenius on and the English super star drummer, Gary Husband. These two gentlemen contributed in the greatest way possible with their extreme musical talents, their wonderful spirit, joy and world level performance. I am honoured to have had the chance to make this recording with these 2 super humans. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ulf & Gary.

"I hope you enjoy listening to these eight concerts as much as we had fun putting them together for you. On the vinyl release we have a selection of songs drawn from the CDs and digital version and some very special bonus tracks, that only appear on the LP's. In 2013 there was for me a very memorable night in a beautiful small Jazz Club in Cologne, Germany, where I got to play a duo concert with the great Michael Abene. From that concert we selected the immortal standard Cole Porter song "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To".

Born on November 13, 1973 in Philadelphia, Ari Hoenig, was exposed at an early age to a variety of musical experiences. His father is a conductor and classical singer, his mother a violinist and pianist. Accordingly, at 4 years of age, Ari began studying the violin and piano. He began playing drums at age twelve, and by age fourteen he was honing his skills with other young jazz musicians at Philly clubs such as Ortlieb’s JazzHaus.

"Who’d Have Guest?" is the clever, intriguingly titled new album from respected UK drummer ELLIOTT HENSHAW. Henshaw has worked with all kinds of people across all kinds of genres – most interesting to us David Benoit, the Drifters, Gwen Dickie, Georgie Fame and Beverly Knight. His standing in the UK music community is such that he can call on plenty of “names” to help him craft his own albums and that explains the title of this one, his latest.

Hoff Ensemble consists of some of Norway's finest jazz and session musicians, fronted by trumpeter Mathias Eick, of ECM renown, who plays a leading role in several of the compositions. The ensemble's basic quartet features legendary veteran bassist Arild Andersen and arranger Jan Gunnar Hoff on piano. Hoff has performed with his own group since 1993, collaborating with such artists as Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Maria Joao and Alex Acuna. This time in this great Norwegian band he mixes flavours in a "cross-over" setting… The music is created by film composers Geir Bøhren and Bent Åserud and among the vocalists are some of Norway's top names in popular music: Helene Bøksle, Åsne Valland Nordli, Sondre Bratland, Unni Wilhelmsen, Tomine Harket, Bjørn Johan Muri, Cecilia Vennersten and Bjørn Eidsvåg.

Malene Mortensen is a Danish jazz singer. She is an unmistakable musical talent. One can only be fascinated by a vocalist who mixes the taste of her own generation with a choice of repertoire and musicians to produce an album of such persuasive and elegant pop- perfumed jazz. On her third album, Malene has combined a set of personal originals with songs that she just plain likes. Some jazz, some pop. However, there is no doubt that Malene Mortensen’s basic approach is that of a jazz vocalist. She dares give her material that essential personal twist - often with surprising results. Her phrasing is blessed with a natural swing, her lyrical interpretations have an easy flow, and her vocal control is supple and virtuosic.
