Contractual obligations never sounded so good. When Miles Davis signed his first contract with Prestige Records in 1951, he was a heroin-addicted pariah of the New York jazz scene, barely able to get enough work to fund his habits.

Released in April 1974, Big Fun filled in a few of the gaps with tracks recorded between 1969 and 1972.

Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926 – September 28, 1991) was an American trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Davis adopted a variety of musical directions in a five-decade career that kept him at the forefront of many major stylistic developments in jazz.

A partner album to the previous Miles release Decoy, this album, released in 1985, is also produced by Miles and loaded with the synths of Robert Irving.

Star People is a 1983 album recorded by Miles Davis and issued by Columbia Records. It is the second studio recording released after the trumpeter's six-year hiatus, the first to feature electric guitarist John Scofield (who was recommended by saxophonist Bill Evans), and the last to be produced by long-standing producer Teo Macero.

Originally released in 1954 on 10-inch vinyl, this Miles Davis session for Blue Note features pianist Horace Silver. Davis also recruited Percy Heath on bass and Art Blakey on drums, musicians he would use again on his next recording.

This 2009 CD contains French composer and pianist Michel Legrand 's album Legrand Jazz (1958) in it's entirety, featuring his first recorded collaboration with Miles Davis.
