As usual in a Baroque musical suite, after the prelude which begins each suite, all the other movements are based around baroque dance types. The cello suites are structured in six movements each: prelude, allemande, courante, sarabande, two minuets or two bourrées or two gavottes, and a final gigue. Gary S. Dalkin of MusicWeb International called Bach's cello suites "among the most profound of all classical music works" and Wilfrid Mellers described them in 1980 as "Monophonic music wherein a man has created a dance of God".

This is the second volume of the complete piano works of Manuel Blasco de Nebra (Sevilla 1750-1784). It contains ten out of the twelve sonatas found Montserrat?s Abbey and which are mainly articulated into two movements (Adagio y Allegro). Pedro Piquero maintains in this CD the interpretative quality and clarity he already applied in vol. 1, and this allows us elucidating the risky proposals of the composer as well as enjoying this exquisite music.

La Tempesta Basel debuts with the Spanish CD label VANITAS RECORDS with a baroque program from the Neapolitan school, with cantatas by Scarlatti, Sarro, Hasse and recorder sonatas by Mancini. A special feature is Giovanni Fischiettis cantata, which is a world premiere recording. It is the third CD recording of the Basel baroque ensemble within 10 years, after the successes with Pepusch (2009) and Telemann (2014) for the label ENCHIRIADIS / NAXOS. The most recent production, realized in Spain in the fall of 2017, includes cantatas with tenor Felix Rienth and sonatas with recorder player Muriel Rochat Rienth.
