Whether the band felt it was simply the time to move on from its most explicit industrial-pop fusion days, or whether increased success and concurrently larger venues pushed the music into different avenues, Depeche Mode's fifth studio album, Black Celebration, saw the group embarking on a path that in many ways defined their sound to the present: emotionally extreme lyrics matched with amped-up tunes, as much anthemic rock as they are compelling dance, along with stark, low-key ballads. The slow, sneaky build of the opening title track, with a strange distorted vocal sample providing a curious opening hook, sets the tone as David Gahan sings of making it through "another black day" while powerful drums and echoing metallic pings carry the song…

Depeche Mode continue with their 12-inch vinyl box set reissue campaign with packages around the singles pulled from their fifth and six albums Black Celebration and Music For The Masses. Black Celebration was issued in March 1986 and with the band apparently bored of creating hit singles, saw a move into more gloomy atmospheric soundscapes. The three singles (‘Stripped’, ‘A Question of Lust’ & ‘A Question of Time’) didn’t reward them with any top ten hits in Britain, the album did peak at number four in the UK charts – a new high. All audio was remastered at Abbey Road Studios. Black Uhuru is a Jamaican reggae group formed in 1972, initially as Uhuru (Swahili for 'freedom'). The group has undergone several line-up changes over the years, with Derrick "Duckie" Simpson as the mainstay. They had their most successful period in the 1980s, with their album Anthem winning the first ever Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1985.
