Live at Montreux 1982 & 1985 is a historically significant recording, presenting Stevie Ray Vaughan in the biggest show of his life to that date, then three years later, once he had become a star. The 1982 show is essentially the show that got his career started. He met both Jackson Browne and David Bowie after his set, and they were so impressed that Browne volunteered use of his studio (for free!) for Stevie to record what would become his debut album, and Bowie recruited him as lead guitarist for the Let's Dance album and tour (alas, the tour was not to be).

This all-star band emerged from a discussion between Vernon Reid and Jack Bruce when Vernon was touring and recording with Jack around 2003. Vernon suggested using John Medeski on keyboards and Tony Williams acolyte Cindy Blackman on drums. This band premiered in December 2008 at the Blue Note in Tokyo. Their first album was released in the Spring of 2012. Recorded live on July, 7th 2012 at the Miles Davis Hall, Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland).

July 2011, the Montreux audience witnessed the reunification of the two world-class guitarists Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin with her concert "Invitation to the coverage." Both musicians previously occurred regularly over the years the Montreux, this time they were together for the first time as the top play on stage. Shows included most of the songs from his classic 1973 album "Love Devotion Surrender", supplemented by a wide range of other parts. this evening was a prime example of the outstanding musical virtuality and spirituality of this great artist, no one should miss.
