This album was released while the Moody Blues were on hiatus, trying to decide whether they had things to contribute musically individually versus as a group. The album was recorded in the mid-70s, and it sounds like mid-70s soft rock. The music sounds very very much like the Moody Blues, though not quite, since the talents of Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge are missing. So while there is no mistaking that this album is by members of the Moodies, it's still not quite the same.

The famous Red Rocks venue plays host to The Moody Blues on this DVD that offers a standard full-frame transfer. The English soundtrack does a fine job of capturing the music. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, making it quite difficult to recommend this disc to anyone who is not already a fan of the band. Some of the songs performed include "Nights in White Satin," "Days of Future Past," and "Tuesday Afternoon."
The Moody Blues, as they came to be known, made their debut in Birmingham in May of 1964, and quickly earned the notice and later the services of manager Tony Secunda.

Kick Off Your Muddy Boots (1975). Founder member and drummer of The Moody Blues, Graeme Edge recorded this classic album in 1975 whilst the Moody Blues were on a sabbatical. Teaming up with Adrian and Paul Gurvitz as the core of his band, Kick Off Your Muddy Boots was a fine effort (cited by some as the finest solo album by any Moody Blues member of the 1970's) and featured a guest appearance by ginger baker on the song Gew Janna Woman. Unavailable on CD for many years, this Esoteric Recordings release has been re-mastered from the original master tapes and includes the non-album track We Like To Do It (issued as a single in 1975) as a bonus track…

The most romantic album to come out of the Moody Blues' orbit, and the biggest success by any of the members during the group's five-year hiatus, Justin Hayward and John Lodge's Blue Jays actually started life as a busted collaboration between Hayward and Moody Blues keyboardist Mike Pinder, with Tony Clarke producing and John Lodge in a supporting role, until Pinder pulled out. Clarke then salvaged the early work by holding it together as a collaboration between Hayward and Lodge. Hayward has the more distinctive body of songs, but their strength as a unit lies in their vocal pairing, which is as strong here as it ever was with the group. The pair play the guitars and basses, backed by a group that includes members of Providence, who were signed to the Moodies' Threshold Records.

Blue Jays is a 1975 album by Justin Hayward and John Lodge. It was recorded and released during the Moody Blues' five-year hiatus. The track "Blue Guitar", originally released as a non-album single credited to Hayward and Lodge in September 1975 but performed by Hayward with the band 10cc, was added to the album upon its re-release on CD in 1987.

Graeme Edge was the drummer in The Moody Blues. Surprisingly (as he wasn't in the same vein as the Gurvitz brothers), they teamed to develop a couple of superb albums…

McCully Workshop is arguably one of South Africa's finest rock bands. They started way back in the '60's, dominated the South African airwaves in the '70's, continued through the '80's and '90's and in the 21st century are still going strong. The debut album was produced by Billy Forrest on the Trutone Records label who had joined Trutone as record producer in 1968. The album draws on a number of musical styles and is influenced by the likes of: The Beatles in particular 'Sgt Pepper', Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, and the Moody Blues 'Threshold Of A Dream'.
'Genesis' recorded in early 1971 and released in June of that year by Trutone Records. After the 'Inc' album there was a deliberate move to do something different and progressive…
