Mountain Men

Mountain Men is a comedy/drama that follows two estranged brothers, Toph and Cooper, as they journey to a remote family cabin in the mountains to evict a squatter. Buried resentment and bruised egos soon derail the plan and when the smoke clears they've destroyed their car and burned down the cabin, leaving them stranded in the cold Rocky Mountain winter. With their very survival at stake, they must learn to work together as brothers to get back to civilization.

Early in the nineteenth century, the mountain men emerged as a small but distinctive group whose knowledge and experience of the trans-Mississippi West extended the national consciousness to continental dimensions.

A new season brings even greater challenges for mountain men old and new. In the frozen wilds of Alaska’s Great Northern Range, bush pilot and fur trapper Marty Meierotto hopes to rebound from a disappointing trapping season, but a late-arriving winter threatens to derail him before he can even get started. In the isolated Yaak Valley of northwest Montana, Tom Oar and his wife, Nancy, must battle all-consuming wildfires and repel a host of natural invaders ranging from marauding grizzly bears to a pack of wolves. Meanwhile in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Eustace Conway struggles to repay a hefty cash loan that he took out in order to save his land from a government lien.

As the worst winter in decades rages across the nation, the Mountain Men must fight to stay on top of the food chain. In the Yaak Valley, the growing wolf population comes knocking on Tom Oar’s door, and quickly turns into a blood feud. In Alaska, Marty Meierotto’s traps are coming up empty, causing him and his family to regroup and figure out how they’re going to survive the season. In the Ruby Valley of southwest Montana, Rich Lewis bags enough meat to survive the winter, but his battle has only begun as hungry predators catch the scent. In North Carolina, Eustace Conway struggles to bring a 100-year-old sawmill back to life to keep his property in the black. And in New Mexico’s Cimarron Valley, Kyle Bell puts his 10-year-old son’s mountain man skills to the test on his first hunting trip.
