Guitarist, composer and producer, Thomas Naïm began playing the guitar at the age of 12. Influenced first by Rock, he then became interested in many musical currents: Funk, Brazilian music, Reggae or electronic music and finally became passionate about Jazz.
On November 13, 2020, Thomas Naïm's new jazz/blues trio opus, "SOUNDS OF JIMI" (Rootless Blues/L'autre Distribution) has been released. This is an important event for Thomas cause it’s an album that pays tribute to a musician that had a great impact on him, the American guitarist Jimi Hendrix. This album also benefits from special guests Hugh Coltman, Erik Truffaz, Célia Kameni and Camille Bazbaz.

Australian piano trio, Trichotomy really need no introduction. Over the course of two compelling, albums for Naim Jazz (2010's Variations and 2011's The Gentle War) they have carved out a reputation as one of the most exciting trios in contemporary jazz combining the lyricism of EST and the energy levels of The Bad Plus while nonetheless finding their own unique voice. Trichotomy are pianist Sean Foran, percussionist John Parker and double bassist Patrick Marchisella. Inspired by a diverse range of influences from Aphex Twin to Vijay Iyer, and John Zorn to Tord Gustavsen, Trichotomy's music combines a dense rhythmic focus with a refined melodic clarity. On their brilliant new album Fact Finding Mission the core trio is joined by Tunji Beier on percussion, Linsey Pollak on reeds, and guitarist James Muller allowing the band to draw on influences including elements from the European and Indian Folk traditions.
Following the phenomenally successful 'In concert' DVD release late in 2006, the Naim Label has released the album of this captivating performance. Originally commissioned by Naim, following the AFQ’s magnificent sell out tours both in the UK and mainland Europe, and recorded by Martin Levan of Red Kite Studio, the album captures the performance of the band at its best. The combination of an intimate theatre - the Trinity in Tunbridge Wells - and the realistic sound and scale captured make this an unmissable album. The recording was completely live, there were no overdubs in the studio later as is perhaps more normal. The band was a particular challenge to record as they are essentially acoustic in nature. The recording was almost exclusively made by microphones rather than Direct Injections (DIs) to retain the full acoustic sense and dynamic of the quartet.
Chicago drummer, bandleader, and composer Ted Sirota has one of the hottest bands around right now with his Rebel Souls. This 2000 date, issued on the British Naim label, is a wonderful precursor to 2004's Breeding Resistance. For starters, this is the first place that Sirota's right-hand man, saxophonist and composer Geof Bradfield, makes an appearance along with fellow reedman Kevin Kizer. Also on hand are Rob Mazurek, guitarist Jeff Parker, and bassist Noel Kupersmith, who have since moved on and have been replaced. But Vs. the Forces of Evil showcases the mature Rebel Souls ensemble sound.
