This book examines the fundamental, clinical, and basic aspects of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) over three sections and nine chapters. Topics addressed include bone lesions in children with NF1, diffuse neurofibromatous tissue, seizures in adults with NF1, Ras-GAP function of neurofibromin, endocrine disorders characteristic of NF1, and more.

I came across this album when I was looking for some more recordings with Cecil McBee, the wonderfully expressive bass player who, in my opinion, hasn't received the credit he deserves. The leader of this trio, Yosuke Yamashita, was an unknown entity to me, but apparently he's a houshold name in Japan and has built a strong following in the US with this, his "American trio." The review by Michael G. Nastos at AMG consists of just one sentence: "Most recent recording by avant-garde pianist from Japan," but it earns the album 4.5 stars.

I always approach Takashi Miike with apprehension. He can be extreme, like Ichi the Killer, and he can also put together a good musical comedy like The Happiness of the Katakuris.
What we have here is a return to his roots with blood and gore and maggots, but we also have a good detective story, and a healthy mix of comedy.
