My World Facts: His first album of his own compositions - just in time for his 60th birthday gives the most intimate insight into Nigel`s fascinatingly diverse musical life. In the cycle Dedications he pays tribute to his musical role models: to his teachers and mentors Yehudi Menuhin and Isaac Stern, the multi-genre violinist Stéphane Grappelli and Mark O Connor, whom Kennedy rates as one of the most important violinists alive today. He also mentions jazz guitarist Jaros aw mietana, whom Kennedy is close to as a result of his frequent visits to Cracow.

Danish composer, pianist and producer Asger Baden has made a name for himself as a film and TV-series composer with his atmospheric music featured in world-acclaimed productions such as “Breaking Bad” and “The Wolfpack”. After having worked on several collaborative projects and composing with his bands “The Crooked Spoke” and “Cours Lapin”, Baden now releases his album of solo material, “If the music stops, they’ll eat him up” via Berlin-based label Neue Meister.

John Metcalfe, who arranges songs for big names such as Coldplay, Simple Minds and The Pretenders, has produced albums with Peter Gabriel and has been touring for decades as a member of the Duke Quartet. Now he releases his debut album on the Neue Meister label. Metcalfe has always been surrounded by music. As a child, he would listen to his father sing opera, before a love of Kraftwerk and Joy Division led to a stint as a drummer in a high school band. But it was a move to Manchester that really accelerated his development as an artist, and led to him finding his true calling. Joining cult band The Durutti Column, then signed to legendary label Factory Records, brought him into the orbit of Tony Wilson and the Hacienda, formative events that would help foster his renegade spirit.

The composer and master of the theremin Carolina Eyck releases with Thetis 2086 an album about the beauty of the earth and its fragility. She takes the perspective of an extraterrestrial visitor to the fictional planet Thetis 2086 and composes an album that impressively demonstrates the sonic breadth of theremin, combines electronic and vocal elements, and in parallel addresses one of the most urgent social problems of our time. Together with the Dutch producer Remco Hazewinkel, she presents the first album in Dolby Atmos on Neue Meister.
