New Order

"Music Complete" is New Order's first full studio release since 2005's "Waiting For The Siren's Call", and their debut for Mute. The album finds the group revitalised, and where they had previously pushed toward electronics or guitars, here the two are in balance. Music Complete also marks a return to the studio for Gillian Gilbert, this is her first album with New Order since 2001's "Get Ready".

The 1982 session caught the band still in search of a new musical direction. "We All Stand" and "5-8-6" appeared on the subsequent album Power, Corruption & Lies. The songs "Too Late" and "Turn the Heater On", the latter a Keith Hudson reggae cover, were only ever recorded for the Peel session, and neither was performed live. "Turn the Heater On" was known to be one of Ian Curtis's favourite songs‚ and it is for this reason that New Order recorded their version as a tribute to him. Ian's admiration of reggae artists such as Keith Hudson and Toots and the Maytals is also mentioned by his wife Deborah Curtis in her book Touching From a Distance. These tracks were broadcast on 1 June 1982 though were presumably recorded in spring 1982.

‘Be a Rebel Remixed’ collects all the official versions of this track, including brand new remixes from Arthur Baker, JakoJako, Mark Reeder and Melawati. Also includes mixes from the band’s own Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris plus club mixes from Maceo Plex and Paul Woolford.

New Order are pleased to announce a remastered series of formats from Substance 1987, which was released via Warner on November 10th.

The box which includes an LP, two CDs, two DVDs and a book, features the album remastered from the original analogue tape masters on LP, and CD.

New Order today release their first new track since 2015’s album, Music Complete. ‘Be A Rebel’ was originally planned as a release ahead of New Order’s tour this autumn, but with live shows on hold and their dates re-scheduled to 2021, the band felt it important to share new music with fans.

In June 2017, New Order returned to the stage at Manchester’s Old Granada Studios where Joy Division made their television debut on Tony Wilson’s So It Goes program in 1978. For the celebrated show Σ(No,12k,Lg,17Mif) New Order + Liam Gillick: So it goes …, New Order deconstructed, rethought and rebuilt a wealthof material from throughout their career: familiar and obscure, old and new.
