Flo Morrissey releases her stunning debut album, 'Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful,' on Glassnote Records. Recorded in Los Angeles with Noah Georgeson (Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom) and in Paris with Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, Cassius), the album is a sublime introduction to the 20-year-old Londoner, whose single, 'Pages Of Gold,' has already garnered international acclaim. Morrissey penned all ten original songs on 'Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful' and plays guitar and piano on the album.

Two groovy Doc Severinson albums – back to back on a single SACD. "Rhapsody For Now" is kind of a cool concept album for Doc Severinsen – one that has him blowing amidst some larger suites arranged by Oliver Nelson, Harry Betts, and Tommy Newsom – each with a slightly different feel. "Doc" is a set of upbeat, jazzy ditties all arranged by Dick Hyman – with a brightly swinging feel that's a hip mix of late 60s mod and early 70s funk.

In Hearing of is the third album by British rock band Atomic Rooster. Although not included on the album, "The Devil's Answer" single was released just prior to it, becoming the band's highest chart success at number 4 in the UK. This helped push the album to a number 18 UK chart placing, despite the fact that the four musicians pictured on the inside cover never played together. The backing tracks (and some vocals) were recorded by Vincent Crane, John Cann and Paul Hammond, but Cann and Hammond left the group soon after vocalist Pete French was drafted in. The finished album's sound was dominated by Crane and Hammond, with many of Cann's guitar parts either not used or placed lower in the mix. In addition, many of the songs were written by Crane, along with his first wife, Pat Darnell.

This book is a history of London’s vast network of fever and smallpox hospitals, built by the Metropolitan Asylums Board between 1870 and 1900. Unprecedented in size and scope, this public infrastructure inaugurated a new technology of disease prevention—isolation. Londoners suffering from infectious diseases submitted themselves to far-reaching forms of surveillance, removal, and detention, which made them legible to science and the state in entirely new ways.
