Night Asylum

Joan Armatrading, one of the great British singer-songwriters, celebrates her 50th anniversary this year with the release of the album "Live At Asylum Chapel." The BBC will also honor Joan with a special screening of the show, which was streamed worldwide for one night last year during the lockdown

The concert at the historic Asylum Chapel in South London will feature some of Joan's most celebrated songs from her 50-year career: "Drop The Pilot," "The Weakness In Me," "Me Myself I" and "Willow" sound as vibrant live as ever. In addition, songs from her latest and highly acclaimed Top 10 studio album "Consequences" will make their live debut - "Natural Rhythm," "Consequences," "Already There," "Better Life," "Glorious Madness and "To Anyone Who Will Listen."

For the third album collection of the Joni Mitchell Archives project, The Asylum Albums (1976-1980) covers what is arguably the knottiest and most challenging period in a career known for being knotty and challenging. While there are certainly fans who have a preference for Mitchell's diaristic/post-folk sounds of the late '60s/early '70s Reprise era or the exploratory fusions of pop and jazz of her first three Asylum albums, most of those fans can find space to love all (or at least most) of the work she released between 1968 and 1975.

Falsely convicted under a plea of "guilty due to insanity", he does not plan to let his sister and her husband forget that they were responsible for the murder of a farmhand and for his cruel imprisonment in the asylum.

The collection features newly remastered versions of 'For the Roses' (1972), 'Court and Spark' (1974), the double live album 'Miles of Aisles' (1974), and 'The Hissing of Summer Lawns' (1975). All four were remastered by Bernie Grundman.

Sonically, Kiss retained their revitalized roar throughout Asylum, turning in a tough but supple performance that would have been more impressive if the songs were stronger.
