South African pianist Thandi Ntuli traveled to Los Angeles in 2019, where she recorded this album of bare, explorative piano and voice pieces at a Venice Beach studio with International Anthem artist Carlos Niño in the producer chair. An absolutely stunning, intimate listen, with Ntuli’s prowess as a pianist and singularity as a vocalist on vivid display as much as her fearlessness, vulnerability and adventurousness during occasional experiments with synthesizers and percussion. Niño colors open minimalist soundscapes with overdubbed percussion, cymbals and plants.

This month the first recording work of the Navarro-Aragonese soprano Sabina Puértolas will be presented, The Swans in the Palace, a debut in which a parallel is raised between Emilio Arrieta (1821-1894), fundamental Spanish composer author of operas such as Ildegonda, Marina, or The Conquest of Granata and zarzuelas such as The Blue Domino, and contemporary creation with a work by Alberto García Demestres.

This is NIN's first release on Columbia Records. The album title is a reference to hesitation wounds, which are produced by testing a bladed weapon before inflicting self-harm or attempting suicide. This deluxe edition of "Hesitation Marks" features four bonus tracks.

The extremely talented and dynamic Théo Ceccaldi Trio was discovered and supported by Joëlle Léandre, the queen of French free music, after being completely impressed by her youthful energy - to the point where she even appeared on the trio's second album a few years ago. Violinist Théo Ceccaldi and cellist brother Valentin, both well-known performers of Opus, form an unconventional trio with guitarist Guillaume Aknine, who combines his ever-renewing, strict musical concepts with wild and creative freedom, regardless of his repertoire.
