The 2016 Billboard Music Awards is a music award ceremony that was held on May 22, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the first nationally televised event to originate from that venue. It aired live on ABC with hosts Ludacris and Ciara.
The nominees were announced on April 11, 2016, with The Weeknd earning the most nominations with twenty. Britney Spears received the Billboard Millennium Award. Celine Dion received the Billboard Icon Award in recognition of her career spanning over three decades. Madonna made an appearance to pay tribute to Prince. Adele premiered the music video for her single "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" at the ceremony. The Weeknd won the most awards on the night with eight, followed by Adele with five, who won Top Artist.

Amanda Jenssen is a Swedish singer and Idol 2007 runner-up. Jenssens first album released in 2008 became one of that year's most sold music albums in Sweden which saw it peak at number 1 on the Swedish album chart. She also had success with her music singles, with seven individual placements on the Swedish single chart for her songs. As of November 2012 she has released three full albums, the latest being the mid-November 2012 Hymns for the Haunted.

In the liner notes to these carefully packaged reissues, all four of the Incredible String Band principals– co-founder Clive Palmer, core duo Mike Heron and Robin Williamson, and Elektra records executive Joe Boyd– offer their insights in separate essays. Three of them mention the smell of patchouli. Such were the times, certainly, but the ISB are loved equally by avant-garde musicians, psychedelia enthusiasts, and those slightly dweeby young gentlemen who hang around music shops on college campuses. The reissue of their first four albums probably put to rest any notion that the ISB were a properly great band, releasing just one true classic, but they were rarely anything less than brave, inspired, and profoundly weird.
