Formed in Tokyo in 1981, ANTHEM turned heads with their intense and heated performances. They released their major debut, »Anthem” in 1985 and continued to tour relentlessly. The band's popularity grew with the release of their 2nd album, »Tightrope« (1986), and they were able to break into the American market with their 3rd full length, »Bound To Break« (1987). Vocalist Eizo Sakamoto left shortly after, and was replaced by Yukio Morikawa for »Gypsy Ways« (1988) and »Hunting Time« (1989), both extremely successful releases which cemented their reputation as leaders of Japanese traditional heavy metal.

The above two Mood Records albums were re-issued as two albums on one CD (albeit in a truncated form) on the Bell label [Bell Records BLR 83 752] however due to CD space restrictions this CD features the following tracks only from the two albums Awakening and Live at the Theaterhaus, originally released on the Mood Records label.

Out Of The Long Dark is the 1979 album by Ian Carr's Nucleus. Also known with other albums simply as Nucleus, Out Of The Long Dark was one of two albums the group made for and released through Capitol.

Two CD set, a greatest hits album from the Japanese metal band masterminded by bassist Naoto Shibata. The four-piece was founded in Tokyo in 1980, since when they have gone on to be Japan's leading heavy metal band alongside compatriots Loudness and Earthshaker. Since the early '80s they have released some 17 studio albums, plus numerous compilations and live albums. Last year, Shibata decided to re-record the band's greatest hits in English language - the result is this album, packed with some of their best-known and most successful tracks, such as 'Black Empire', 'Immortal Bind', 'Eternal Warrior' and 'Ghost In The Flame'. The album was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Sepultura, At The Gates, Opeth, Arch Enemy and countless others), who gave the tracks the right sound and Polish to please Western ears and tastes. This release is accompanied by a bonus disc containing 11 tracks, recorded live in Japan in July 2018.
