First heard on Xavi and Dusan’s inspired 2014 album, “Random Abstract” by XaDu, “Deep Ocean” starts things off with a fanfare of muscular guitar and cymbals crashing like waves on the rocky coast, carving out the beach and unearthing a primal groove with growling bass and jittering spectral figures. “The Sound of the Earth I” brings to mind David Sylvian’s post-Japan near ambient instrumental excursions where space and pause became as integral to the “composition as place” as his trusty Prophet 5.

Having crested the west coast modular-ambient wave in just a few releases including 2018’s Sharing Waves on the influential LA experimental imprint Leaving Records - Sean Hellfritsch has swapped the mossy analog synth improvisations of his prior output for refined melodic arrangements dressed in sprightly dawn-of-digital textures.

Opening with Mike Hugg's title track, which builds on Mick Rogers' intense riffing and the killer vocals of Vicki Brown, Judith Powell, Liza Strike, and Ruby James, Messin' is pretty intense and involving from its very first bars. It's also damned topical and serious, for all of the free-wheeling rock & roll spirits and the progressive rock complexities that go into the playing. And the result is a spellbinding whole, featuring some astonishing keyboard flourishes by Manfred Mann himself (who ventures into Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson territory on "Buddah," even as the rest of the band seems to be emulating Deep Purple) and killer guitar from Mick Rogers, while Colin Pattenden and Chris Slade lay down the rhythm section like a pair of articulate pile-drivers.

Earth Omen is the third album by American rock band Frijid Pink, released in 1972. The band, recently abandoned by their original singer and guitarist, shed their blues-based rock sound and picked up a more progressive rock sound (reminiscent of Uriah Heep), with added psychedelia. This was largely thanks to the addition of singer Jon Wearing, guitarist Craig Webb, and keyboardist Larry Zelanka (Zelanka was only considered a guest on the previous two albums). The German CD release (Repertoire Records) features two bonus tracks.

Cat Stevens was one of the most popular artists of the '70s. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab is very proud to present this numbered, limited-edition 3-disc box set containing the hard-to-find Izitso and two titles exclusive to Mobile Fidelity: Back To Earth and Numbers.
Numbers (1975). Subtitled "A Pythagorean Theory Tale," Numbers was a concept album relating to a faraway galaxy, a planet called Polygor, a palace, and its people, the Polygons. The songs presumably told the tale, but as with so many concept albums, listening to Numbers was like hearing a Broadway cast album without having seen the show - something seemed to be going on, but it was hard to tell what…

Inspired by the stories of Jules Verne, Journey to the Center of the Earth is an adventure game that features a familiar point-and-click interface and is played in 3rd person perspective.

Scientific opinion was divided when, in 1864, Professor Hardwigg first told of his adventurous journey to the center of the Earth. Should scientists believe this far-fetched tale from a member of their community? An envious rival succeeds in undermining Hardwigg’s credibility and gradually the whole story is forgotten.

The expedition is rumored to have been pure fantasy….
