Hypnos 69 was founded in 1994, Diest, Belgium. When Steve and Dave Houtmeyers decide in the summer of '94 to found a band with Tom Vanlaer, also the story of a band that would bring new life to the '60s and '70s psychedelic underground rock-scene of today began: Hypnos 69. The name was appropriately taken from the ancient Greek god of Sleep and Subconsciousness. The number 69 stands for equilibrium and stability; properties that can be retrieved in the marked sound of the band. Procession: An Aural History 1981-2010 is a compilation album by American post-punk band Savage Republic, released on September 7, 2010 by LTM Recordings. The release included selected material from all of the band's studio albums, including tracks from EPs and singles. The two-disc edition comes with a live performance of the band in Spain on January 30, 2010.
This release contains all studio recordings by the brilliant quintet fronted by CLARK TERRY and BOB BROOKMEYER. This material was originally released on three albums which are presented here in their entireties.
King Animal is the sixth studio album by American rock band Soundgarden. The album was released on November 13, 2012, by Seven Four Entertainment and Republic Records in the United States and Vertigo Records in the rest of the world. Produced by both the band and Adam Kasper, the album is the band's first in sixteen years, and the first not to be released on A&M Records since 1988's Ultramega OK. However, Republic, Vertigo and A&M are all owned by Universal Music Group. It is also the last album to feature founding singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, who died suddenly in May 2017 after performing a show with the band.
