More than a year back, Oracle started offering Always Free tier with its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure service, popularly known as OCI. With this one can create or provision compute instance - meaning a Linux VM instance free of cost. At this point of time 2 compute instance are allowed. So one can use to same to build a Proof of concept (POC) for some application or could be for learning purpose & exploring purpose without having a physical machine of Linux (on Cloud). A point to mote here is many system particularly those on IOT uses Linux based OS OR these LINUX VM can even be used to host website application, which mean it does not require separate hosting services, which involves cost.
