Australian-born, New York-based pianist Lisa Moore is known for her convention-smashing aesthetic; a prime example is her adventurous and virtuosic performance on various percussion instruments as well as piano in Martin Bresnick's Caprichos Enfáticos. Another is her use of the EP – extended-play recording, longer than a single but shorter than a full album – that was current in the LP era for pop releases, but that in the world of classical music, is a rarity in the age of CDs and beyond.

Song of Innocence is the debut album of American composer and producer David Axelrod. It was released in October 1968 by Capitol Records. Axelrod sought to capitalize on the experimental climate of popular music at the time and composed the album as a suite-like tone poem based on Songs of Innocence, a 1789 illustrated collection of poems by William Blake. It was recorded at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles with an orchestra and a variety of studio musicians, including keyboardist and conductor Don Randi, guitarist Al Casey, bassist Carol Kaye, and drummer Earl Palmer. Song of Innocence is an instrumental jazz fusion record that incorporates elements of classical, rock, funk, pop, and theatre music. It is arranged for bass, drums, and string instruments, written in the rock idiom with tempos centered on rock-based patterns by Palmer. Axelrod used contrast in his orchestral compositions and interspersed the album's euphoric psychedelic R&B form with dramatic, harrowing arrangements to reflect the supernatural themes found in Blake's poems. The music's reverent, psychedelic overtones evoke their themes of innocence and spirituality.

Fabrizio D'Alisera a musician, refined Italian saxophone player. Great lover of tenor sax tradition. As soon as I tried the saxophones Sequoia, I immediately realised the great quality of this project. A timbre full of overtones, highly sharp in intonation together with an ergonomic and fluent mechanics. The Tenor Lemon (Unlacquered) has wide and powerful sound, a hardy and solid low register but spontaneous in blowing at the same time. The Soprano Lemon (Unlacquered) is the instrument that mostly captured my attention: it keeps a great tuneful richness and depth on all register with a peculiar and personal voice. The sound never sharpens even on high register where the sound often impoverishes in overtones and volume. It has great focus and timbre flexibility, I would advice it to anyone.

…Throughout the singing of all concerned is incredible - involving and incredibly wide-ranging for different timbres, sounds and types of pitch employed. The music sounds tremendously difficult yet Nordic Voices carry it off with apparent ease and appropriate devotional feeling to the score. The 2L sound is, as usual, incredibly precise - defining each location with clarity but resolving every last nuance that is uttered from the performers lips…

As a weary sailor named Jan (Matthieu Carrière) sets foot on dry land, he is mysteriously abducted and awakens in the isolated mansion of Malpertuis. There, he is reunited with his sister Nancy (Susan Hampshire) and an eclectic group of distant relatives, each summoned by his dying uncle Quentin Cassavius (Orson Welles).
