Flaming Pie is the thirteenth release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, personally supervised by Paul McCartney and remastered at Abbey Road Studios. Originally released on May 5, 1997, Paul's critically acclaimed and universally beloved tenth solo album Flaming Pie ended a four-year gap between McCartney studio albums. Produced by Paul, Jeff Lynne, and George Martin and featuring a supporting cast of family and friends including Ringo Starr, Steve Miller, Linda McCartney, and son James, Flaming Pie is equal parts a masterclass in songcraft and a sustained burst of joyful spontaneity. A nice CD with the authentic 'Miller sound' from original 30's and 40's recordings. Let that so unique swinging sound create the well known atmosphere of the 'swing era'. Original jazz music from one of the 'immortals'.

I was happy to find that Miller Anderson is still actively involved in the world of music and looked forward to hearing this 2008 release when I heard of its existence. Now, let it be said, Anderson has a fine voice indeed and is a guitarist of great style and emotion. He has a varied and interesting pedigree too, most notably as a central player in both the Keef Hartley Band and Dog Soldier (to name just two) and has always been gifted with a naturally bluesy and soulful voice.
