I WILL STAND (WORK TOGETHER) - Peter Yarrow, Jonathan Edwards, Tom Chapin, Holly Near, Josh White Jr, David Mallett, Barry Ollman, David Roth and Maureen McGovern join voices with me in a new song for the resistance: Thomas J. Gray's facebook rant set to music. In performance, this song has elicited applause for every line and most times a standing ovation at the conclusion. It is a rallying cry for resistance, a probing query into the concerns we hold most dear. It heeds the warning of my partner Mary Travers to recognize “…the thin line between compromise and complicity”.

Those familiar with Noel's solo work in the context of PP&M will welcome the release of FACETS; his first solo studio recording in 20 years. The 12 track CD contains, in addition to the title tune, selections previously unrecorded (BE REAL, REVOLUTION (1X1), MY FUNNY VALENTINE, BY MYSELF) as well as three instrumentals which feature his classic picking style.

It speaks well for the continued viability of their catalog (probably second only to Bob Dylan's among '60s folk artists) that this is only the sixth compilation ever done on Peter, Paul & Mary's music in four decades of musical activity - and since one of the others was a Readers' Digest mail-order release and two of the others were done for special markets outside of the United States, that low number is downright astonishing. This release effectively supplants the perennially popular Ten Years Together: The Best of Peter, Paul & Mary, from 1970, and also outdoes the 2003 WEA International Very Best Of, with more songs drawn from a much wider chunk of their history as well. The material at hand covers not only most of the key singles and a handful of important album tracks by the trio from the 1960s, but also acknowledges their less widely heard solo material from the 1970s…

Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Peter, Paul and Mary featuring 2012 remastering, using the original master tape. Includes a description and lyrics. Part of a eleven-album Peter, Paul and Mary cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring albums "Peter, Paul And Mary I", "Moving", "In The Wind", "Peter, Paul And Mary in Concert", "A Song Will Rise", "See What Tomorrow Brings", "The Peter, Paul And Mary Album", "Album 1700", "In Japan", "Late Again", and "Peter, Paul And Mommy". The most popular folk group of the 1960s, Peter, Paul and Mary in later decades have also proved themselves to be among the most durable music acts in history. Their longevity dwarfs that of the Weavers, while the fact that the trio continues to be associated with a major record label (Warner Bros.) after decades in the business sets them apart from rivals like the Kingston Trio and the Brothers Four. Then again, perhaps it isn't so surprising – Peter, Paul and Mary's roots run deeper than almost any other folk act one might care to name, while their appeal crosses audience lines that other acts couldn't (and can't) even approach.

This double album opens with a then-new Bob Dylan song, "The Times They Are A' Changin'", and closes with the best-known song ever written by Pete Seeger and Lee Hayes, "If I Had a Hammer". That seems to sum up Peter, Paul & Mary, but In Concert offers a lot more than that.
