Port Chester was the eighth show of Pink Floyd’s 1970 Spring US tour following two dates at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia and was their final show in the New York metropolitan area (they also played SUNY Stony Brook and the Fillmore East). This was also the longest US tour to date and it is fascinating to hear material from the recent Zabriskie Point and More soundtracks evolving into lengthy jams alongside familiar songs from Ummagumma as well as the transition into the Atom Heart Mother period. Despite the inclusion of some Barrett-era pieces, this is the sound of The Floyd spreading their wings and finding their own identity.

A Momentary Lapse of Reason is the thirteenth studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It was released in the UK and US on 7 September 1987 by EMI and Columbia. It was the first Pink Floyd album since the departure of bass guitarist, singer, and songwriter Roger Waters in 1985. Unlike many Pink Floyd albums, A Momentary Lapse of Reason is not a concept album and is instead a collection of songs written by guitarist David Gilmour, sometimes with outside songwriters. It followed Gilmour's decision to include material recorded for his third solo album on a new Pink Floyd album with drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Richard Wright. A Momentary Lapse of Reason was recorded primarily on Gilmour's converted houseboat, Astoria. Its production was marked by a legal dispute with Waters as to who owned the rights to the Pink Floyd name, an issue resolved several months after the album was released. Though it received mixed reviews and was derided by Waters, A Momentary Lapse of Reason outsold Pink Floyd's previous album The Final Cut (1983), and was supported by a successful world tour. In the US, it has been certified quadruple platinum.

The Wall was Roger Waters' crowning accomplishment in Pink Floyd. It documented the rise and fall of a rock star (named Pink Floyd), based on Waters' own experiences and the tendencies he'd observed in people around him. By then, the bassist had firm control of the group's direction, working mostly alongside David Gilmour and bringing in producer Bob Ezrin as an outside collaborator. Drummer Nick Mason was barely involved, while keyboardist Rick Wright seemed to be completely out of the picture. Still, The Wall was a mighty, sprawling affair, featuring 26 songs with vocals: nearly as many as all previous Floyd albums combined…

"The Music Of Pink Floyd" is a compilation album released in 2007. It contains members and artists from many bands including Mr. Big, KISS, Glenn Hughes, Dweezil Zappa, Toto, and many others. Pink Floyd still has a huge fan base. And the fact that their albums still outsell present day artists is a testament to the band's impact on music history. Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands in music history.

"Pompeii" captures Pink Floyd live – and alone – in a small stadium in the petrified Italian city of Pompeii, playing some of their pre-Dark Side of the Moon material. There is also footage of the band in the studio, working on Dark Side. This release recreates the 1974 cut from DVD and laserdisc sources along with discrete quad audio sourced from a 35mm 4-track print.

This film is nothing short of "must see" documentary history. I'll never be able to fully express how moving it is to see the young men of Pink Floyd during uninhibited moments of creativity, eating and chatting together, rehearsing, having philosophical discussions about the fate of rock-n-roll music and the shaking off of their drug-oriented image, and even arguing now and then.

Beyond how intriguing the band and it's members are, the film itself is so well directed and beautifully shot. The sound is excellent. Incredibly artistic film montages add to, rather than detract from the music. I have never seen a better portrayal of live music. The sheer musicianship of these men is mind boggling. Each is highlighted at different points in the film and it is clear that they have immense skill and talent.

Pink Floyd was so ahead of its time and will never seem out of style. And this film, although shot in 1972, is as fresh as a daisy. There are some incomparable moments, making this truly the best rock documentary I have ever seen. David Gilmour looks very handsome, by the way, and will always be my favorite guitar god.
