1974 was a year of high achievement for Queen. They had their first two hit singles, 'Seven Seas OfRhye' and 'Killer Queen,' released two albums, 'Queen II' and 'Sheer Heart Attack,' and completed major tours across the UK, America and Europe. In the UK, they performed three sold-out shows at the legendary Rainbow Theatre in London's Finsbury Park, one in March on the 'Queen II' tour and two in November following the release of 'Sheer Heart Attack'. Sheer Heart Attack is the third studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on 8 November 1974 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. Digressing from the progressive themes featured on their first two albums, this album featured more pop-centric and conventional rock tracks and marked a step towards the "classic" Queen sound. It was produced by the band and Roy Thomas Baker and launched Queen to mainstream popularity in the UK and throughout the world.

"A Night at the Opera" is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Queen. The album takes its name from the Marx Brothers film of the same name, which the band watched one night at the studio complex when recording. Queen employed a complex production that extensively used multitrack recording, and the songs incorporated a wide range of styles, such as ballads, music hall, dixieland, hard rock and progressive rock influences. Aside from their usual equipment, Queen also utilised a diverse range of instruments such as a double bass, harp, ukulele and more.

Queen spent three months in the studio making the landmark "A Night at the Opera", reportedly the most expensive album ever recorded in music history to that point. "Bohemian Rhapsody" alone took three weeks, with the band working 10 to 12 hour days on the multitrack vocal arrangements. The six-minute song contains so many overdubs that the original master tape was almost worn through, according to Brian May. Both the song and the album changed the course of Queen's career and rock music in general, rendering the cliché "classic" an understatement.

"Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles" is singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega's eighth studio album, and her first new release in seven years. It features contributions from Larry Campbell, Peter Gabriel, and Tony Levin (bass, King Crimson).
