Rave Tapes is the eighth studio album by Mogwai. With Rave Tapes, Mogwai's mastery of sound and space is firmly at its apex. The album is a lustrous collection mined from the same quarry as its predecessors, wreathed in painterly textures underpinned by increasingly electronic beats. Mogwai wrote and recorded Rave Tapes at the band's Castle Of Doom studio in Glasgow, Scotland, with Paul Savage, who also worked on their 2011 album, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. Japanese edition includes two bonus tracks.

"Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic" is the 23rd studio album by American recording artist Prince under the unpronounceable "Love Symbol", as shown on the album cover. Distributed on November 2, 1999 by NPG Records and Arista Records, the album was issued shortly after the release of The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale (1999). It includes several guest appearances, including by Gwen Stefani, Eve, and Sheryl Crow; Prince also completed a cover of Crow's 1996 single "Everyday Is a Winding Road". A pop and R&B album, it departs from the soul genre found on Prince's previous efforts.

While 1963 belonged to the Merseyside-led beat boom, the following year saw the emergence of homegrown R&B as market leaders The Rolling Stones were joined on the Thames Delta by a host of equally young, raw and enthusiastic British blues-hounds. The Pretty Things, The Yardbirds and Manfred Mann would all come to national prominence, but many other putative king bees - The Artwoods, Downliners Sect, early Ronnie Wood outfit The Birds - would have to settle for a more localised audience.
