Excellent addition to any prog-rock music collection
Jeff Lynne reportedly regards this album and its follow-up, Out of the Blue, as the high points in the band's history. One might be better off opting for A New World Record over its successor, however, as a more modest-sized creation chock full of superb songs that are produced even better.

The Fonk Record is the final record Wayman Tisdale recorded before his death in 2009. Tisdale's funk chops could be heard on his contemporary jazz albums throughout the past decade, but The Fonk Record transports listeners all the way back to the 1970s. In a way, it shouldn't be surprising that Tisdale was a funkateer. After all, he grew up playing the bass in the 1970s - a time when bass players in funk had the same stature as electric guitar players in rock.

Record Store Day 2019 Release. 180 Gram Audiophile Clear Vinyl. "The Guitar World According To Frank Zappa" - the 1987 guitar compilation by Frank Zappa was originally available on cassette only through Guitar World magazine and Barfko-Swill mail order, and will be reissued for the first time on 180g clear audiophile vinyl. The album was mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.

1963 was a big year for instrumental guitar music, particularly surf music. "Pipeline" by The Chantays, "Wipeout" by The Surfaris, "Bombora " by The Atlantics , "Dance On" and "Foot Tapper" by The Shadows all topped the charts.
Inspired by "that sound", Martin Cilia, guitarist with legendary Australian surf band, The Atlantics, has taken a step into the solo spotlight with the release of "Revenge Of The Surf Guitar". This 16 track CD is his tribute to early sixties surf guitar music…
