Blue Öyster Cult is the eponymous debut album by the American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released in January 16, 1972. The album featured songs such as "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll", "Stairway to the Stars", and "Then Came the Last Days of May", all of which the band still plays regularly during its concerts. Despite positive reviews, the album failed to chart for some time before finally cracking the Billboard 200 on May 20, 1972, peaking at No. 172. Blue Öyster Cult toured with artists such as The Byrds, Alice Cooper and the Mahavishnu Orchestra to support the album.

Picking up where 1962-1966 left off, the double-album compilation 1967-1970, commonly called The Blue Album, covers the Beatles' later records, from Sgt. Pepper's through Let It Be. Like The Red Album, The Blue Album was released in the wake of a pair of widely advertised quadruple-LP bootlegs, Alpha Omega, Vols. 1-2: The Story of the Beatles, which had appeared early in 1973…

Mixing the dusky romanticism of Dexter Gordon and the progressive tonal ideology of John Coltrane, Booker Ervin is often filed under "A" for amalgam alongside other overlooked tenor masters such as Tina Brooks and Hank Mobley. Structurally Sound is perhaps not Ervin's most provocative album, but a solid and tasty endeavor featuring the suspended chord sounds popularized by McCoy Tyner during the late '60s. Here, the chords come via the brilliant pianist John Hicks, who opens the album with funky high-end triplet figures on Randy Weston's "Berkshire Blues." Joining in is a well-selected roster of musicians, many of whom were also overshadowed by their more well-known contemporaries, including Charles Tolliver on trumpet, Red Mitchell on bass, and Lenny McBrowne on drums…

In 2016, Cherry Red’s psychedelic imprint Grapefruit Records released the 3CD set ‘Let’s Go Down And Blow Our Minds’, a hugely successful, widely-acclaimed anthology of lysergically- inclined music made in Britain during the epochal year of 1967. In response to the many requests we’ve received, here’s the long-awaited second volume, housed like its predecessor in a clamshell box with a lavishly annotated and illustrated 48- page booklet. Featuring 79 mind-melting tracks from British psychedelia’s key year, ‘Too Much Sun Will Burn’ covers all bases, incorporating the era’s big hitters (The Move, The Who, Small Faces, ISB, Pretty Things, The Zombies), huge singles (Traffic, Procol Harum, The Hollies, Eric Burdon & The Animals, The Troggs), cult 45s (Paper Blitz Tissue, Made In Sheffield, Caleb and many others) and such future legends as Bowie, Genesis, Alex Harvey and Elton John, with a track from his legendary aborted debut LP ‘Regimental Sgt. Zippo’.

Features the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (compatible with standard CD player) and 24bit remastering. Includes an alternate take of "Blue Train" for the first time in the world. Although never formally signed, an oral agreement between John Coltrane and Blue Note Records founder Alfred Lion was indeed honored on Blue Train – Coltrane's only collection of sides as a principal artist for the venerable label. The disc is packed solid with sonic evidence of Coltrane's innate leadership abilities. He not only addresses the tunes at hand, but also simultaneously reinvents himself as a multifaceted interpreter of both hard bop as well as sensitive balladry – touching upon all forms in between.

Long before Mike Myers’ Austin Powers character idolized him on film, Burt Bacharach was the quintessential golden boy of pop music. He studied with French composer Darius Milhaud (as had jazz legend Dave Brubeck), he backed up Marlene Dietrich (something Brubeck didn’t). He composed hit after hit after hit after hit for movies and singers; he pretty much launched Dionne Warwick single-handedly (well, double-handedly, with the help of lyricist Hal David). He was where everyone wanted to be, with everyone that everyone wanted to be with, making the scene and making the scene his. How do you fit all that musical goodness into five compact discs? Focus. Our collection is Burt being Burt, occasionally with a guest vocal where called for, but mostly the man in his own voice, conducting and playing and just generally being his luminous self.
