Rex Warner

The Jesus and Mary Chain are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in East Kilbride in 1983. The band revolves around the songwriting partnership of brothers Jim and William Reid. Their debut album "Psychocandy" was released to critical acclaim in 1985 on major label WEA… The band went on to release five more studio albums before disbanding in 1999. They are reunited in 2007.

One of the most celebrated singer/songwriters of his generation, Steve Earle first won an audience as a country artist, though it didn't take long for him to demonstrate that designation was too narrow for him. Earle's music runs the gamut from country (1986's Guitar Town), bluegrass (1999's The Mountain), and rock (1988's Copperhead Road) to folk (2007's Washington Square Serenade, and blues (2015's Terraplane).

When Herbie Hancock left Warner Bros. in 1971 after releasing three musically sound but critically and commercially underappreciated albums – The Crossing, Mwandishi, and Fat Albert's Groove – he was struggling. At odds with a jazz establishment that longed for his return to his Blue Note sound and a fierce consciousness struggle with free music and the full-on embrace of electricity since his tenure with Miles Davis, Hancock was clearly looking for a voice.
