Talk That Talk is the sixth studio album by Barbadian singer Rihanna, released on November 18, 2011, by Def Jam Recordings and SRP Records. It was recorded while traveling for the Loud Tour between February and November 2011, and was originally planned to be a reissue of her previous studio album Loud (2010). Following in the same vein as Loud, Talk That Talk is a dance-oriented pop/R&B crossover album that incorporates elements of hip hop, dubstep, electronic and house music. The album also continues to have subtle dancehall genres, whilst its lyrical content and themes revolve around a nihilist, romantic and lascivious lover. Talk That Talk received generally positive reviews from music critics, and debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200. The album peaked at number one in Austria, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, where it debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. As of April 2012, the album has been certified three-times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry.

As executive producer, Rihanna enlisted previous collaborators The-Dream, David Guetta, Chase & Status, and StarGate to work alongside new collaborators such as Parker Ighile, Mike Will Made-It, and Labrinth. Unapologetic is mainly a pop and R&B album that incorporates elements of dubstep, hip hop, EDM and reggae in its production, similar to the sound of her previous albums Talk That Talk and Rated R (2009). Unapologetic received generally mixed reviews from critics, with some reviewers describing its music as interesting, while others criticized its lyrical content and rushed nature. The album won a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2014 ceremony.

Kandace Springs' career started rolling when her father, session vocalist Scat Springs, handed a demo to Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken. Industry veterans of 30-plus years, from Shannon to Rihanna, the duo signed her to their production company, which led to an audition for Blue Note president Don Was. The Nashville native sang "I Can't Make You Love Me," popularized by Bonnie Raitt, whose recording just happened to be co-produced with Was. Blue Note deal secured, she uploaded a cover of Sam Smith's "Stay with Me" that prompted Prince to have her play at Paisley Park during the 30th anniversary celebration of Purple Rain. Springs made her recorded debut a couple months later.

Singer-pianist Kandace Springs full-lenght debut "Soul Eyes" was produced by Grammy-winner Larry Klein (Lizz Wright, Melody Gardot, Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock). It s an album of soul & pop that channels her jazz influences (Norah Jones, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone) & her Nashville upbringing. Guests include trumpeter Terence Blanchard & guitarist-songwriter Jesse Harris. Her EP landed her on Letterman, Kimmel, Fallon, Bonnaroo & made fans like Prince. She supported Gregory Porter on his massive UK tour.
