Fresh, new rhythmic earcatcher, made by the master. Velocity is the result of almost forty years of musical development by the Aachen musician. This album provides an EM with new and fresh impressions, which even arouses the attention of hardcore Schroeder fans who are already familiar with some of his extravagant excursions. It will be a delightful surprise. Velocity is very "electronic", experimental and quite varying. The 7 instrumental tracks of the 64-minute album are sequencer-based and, as usual, featured with Schroeder-typical exciting atmospheres and magnificent synthesizer solos.Robert has already pursued the new orientation "back to the roots" for a few years and has now come a long way closer to achieving this goal with Velocity.

After Robert's successful debut "Harmonic Ascendant" in 1979, the follow-up "Floating Music" appeared in 1980. An album full of surprises. Here you can hear sounds from self-built synthesizers, or the classic electronic sounds of 1980, as you know them from Klaus Schulze. An exciting album with a deep atmosphere that carries you into bizarre dreamscapes. Occasional weird sounds dissolve into Schroeder-typical sequencer runs, sometimes you think you're walking alone in the dark and see lantern lights streaking past you again and again. Wonderful for dreaming. Floating Music is one of his best albums!
The German Electronics artist Robert Schroeder (discovered 1978 by EM pioneer Klaus Schulze) has produced numerous excellent solo CDs as well as his success album Double Fantasy / Universal Ave., which reached the US Charts in the end of the 80s. The music of Robert Schroeder is various, but always soulful. He combines spherical synthesizer sounds with modern rhythmical contrasts, often supplemented by spacey guitars and sometimes also by piano, cello or voices. Schroeder's music spectrum includes Electronic, Ambient, Chill-Out, Lounge, Adventure and Trip-Hop. Electronic Music in the widest sense is the musical style of this artist who has his roots in the music of Klaus Schulze, Can and Pink Floyd.
Electronic Music for the flight through the universe of fantasies and emotions that's the topic of the 32nd album of the German electronic artist. With deep soundscapes, pulsing sequencer and groovy rhythms BackSpace beams you up and brings you back to the tension and relaxation of the space music of the 80s. By his albums of the recent years Robert Schroeder has shown his musical diversity and so he brought music of various types on the disc. 'It is once again time to remember the roots of EM in the 70s and 80s', that's the idea the German sound wizard came in mind and thus he started to work on the vision of BackSpace. Of course Robert released a wonderful spacey EM disc in 2007 with his work SphereWare, but BackSpace could even be on top of SphereWare…
The German Electronics artist Robert Schroeder (discovered 1978 by EM pioneer Klaus Schulze) has produced numerous excellent solo CDs. The music of Robert Schroeder is various, but always soulful. Ferro OXID is produced in the real good style of the 80s EM. Sequencer and analogue Synthesizer sounds estimated by Berlin School style are emphasized and the impression of the good old Schroeder style is strongly expressed here. Exciting electronic soundscapes, bizarre tones, tension and relaxation, diversion, dreamy romantic synthesizer melodies (mostly played with the Minimoog) and infectious grooves are the right ingredients when it comes to the highest of all the relaxation, excellent listening and best Electronic Music.
This is a complete re-recording of Robert Schroeder's cult classic album Galaxie Cygnus-A from the 1982.
If Harmonic Ascendant has put the name of Robert Schroeder on the map, Galaxie Cygnus-A has solidified the immense talent and creativity of the Aachen synthesist. Initially conceived for a science fiction project, the main idea behind this album was to capture the sound waves coming from galaxies with the help of a radio telescope placed in high altitude. The sound engineer in him edited and sampled these galactic tones on a music that he then performed during a big event in sounds and images, in front of a giant screen that was broadcasting images of cosmos during this concert presented within the framework of the prestigious ARS-Electronica in Linz, Austria, in 1982…

On the occasion of the annually "Schallwelle" Award ceremony, Robert Schroeder once again gave a concert on the 12thof March 2011 in the Planetarium Bochum (FRG). Accompanied by drummer Gigi Frieg and in the encore supplemental by surprise guest musician Bernd Kistenmacher for the approx. 250 spectators results a spectacular and impressing event.
Space effects glide over into vocoder-like voices that plunge into echo chambers, the drums kick in and the music picks up speed. To drift away! Mystical passages lead into dreamy sequencer runs and are accentuated with drums and given even more depth with the choral pads. The entire album is a great sound experience for a marvellous dream journey to drift away into other spheres. Also recommended for Klaus Schulze fans.
