Billy Joe "B.J." Thomas is an American popular singer. He is particularly known for his hit songs of the 1960s and 1970s, which appeared on the pop, country, and Christian music charts. His best-known recording is the Burt Bacharach/Hal David song "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head".

Crystal Voyager is a soundtrack album by G. Wayne Thomas to the 1972 surfing film. The soundtrack album was released a year later on the Warm & Genuine label. The compact disc was released in Japan via King Records on 26 November, 2004.

Thomas Dolby, the iconic '80s star whose smash hits 'She Blinded Me With Science' and 'Hyperactive' helped define the MTV generation/revolution, will break his 20-year silence with A Map of the Floating City. "Originally released on GRT in 1973, Ian Thomas' debut album spawned his biggest hit with the contagiously melodic "Painted Ladies," peaking at number four in his homeland of Canada and number 34 in the U.S., and eventually becoming his only American Top 40 single. The song is easily the album's high point, as other efforts such as "Will You Still Love Me," "When You Have Love," and "Insecurity" cease to administer anything different from the plethora of soft rock tunes that consumed radio in the early '70s.

In 1950, Ian Thomas was born in Hamilton, Ontario. Once he began to play piano at the age of six Thomas fell in love with the world of music. He later learned the guitar. By 1969 he was in a folk group called Tranquility Base which began to tour across Canada. They had a #3 hit in Hamilton in 1970 called “If You’re Looking”. This led to an album, but further success eluded them. Thomas became a producer at the CBC. By 1973 he got his own record deal with GRT Records and released “Painted Ladies”. The song climbed to #9 in Vancouver and #34 on the Billboard Hot 100. His self-titled album went Gold. Thomas won the 1974 Juno Award for Most Promising Male Vocalist and toured with April Wine. He got exposure on a number of TV variety shows in Canada which included both his musical and comedic talents.

The first British reggae sub-genre to achieve ‘outernational’ success and influence the music of Jamaica, lovers rock was a dominating force in the UK scene, from the mid-Seventies through to the close of the Eighties. Developed largely as a counterpoint to the more militant style of roots reggae, the romantically-themed genre was heavily influenced by the styles of US R&B and the predominantly soulful Jamaican rock steady sound of the Sixties. Despite the style achieving mainstream success with a number of major UK chart hits, lovers rock received scant attention in the mainstream media until the screening of Steve’s McQueen’s award-winning 2020 BBC TV series, “Small Axe”, the highlight of which was an aptly titled episode that paid tribute to the style and its impact upon British culture.
