Five CD box set. When Elton John started up his Rocket Records label in 1973, Kiki Dee was his first signing, and he produced the first album Loving And Free, utilizing his own band and a "who's who" of UK session musicians. In 1974, she formed the Kiki Dee Band, and again hit the charts with the single and album "I've Got The Music In Me". In 1975, she recorded an album in LA, Cage The Songbird - for reasons that will be revealed in the extensive annotation in this book set, this album was shelved and did not see a release until 2008. It now takes it's correct place in this collection of Kiki's recordings for the Rocket label. The summer of 1976 saw Kiki occupy the UK # 1 singles spot for six weeks with her old friend Elton, with "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". It was also # 1 in the US, where it sold over a million copies. Further success came with two more albums for Rocket, Kiki Dee (1977) and Stay With Me (1978), featuring the singles "Chicago" and "First Thing In The Morning". Containing all five albums and lavishly illustrated with photos and ephemera from Kiki's own collection, and with annotation by Alan Robinson based on a brand new interview, this media book package also features ten bonus tracks, including "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", and it's B-side "Snow Queen", on CD for the first time outside Australia.

Jungle Rocket plays a unique style of blues we call 'jungle blues' with nods to New Orleans, Chicago, Rhythym and Blues standards, and a smattering of very unique original songs. The band started in upcountry Oahu (Pupukea) in 2007 and been playing ever since. These remarkable recordings are a result of sessions between 2007 and 2011 recorded in the bands rehearsal studio; an old quonset hut. Not quite like anything you've heard … be delighted!

Making its first ever appearance some three decades after being recorded, Kiki Dee's "Cage The Songbird" album was made during the period of Kiki's recording career when she was enjoying phenomenal pop chart success around the world, via her duet with Elton John of “Don't Go Breaking My Heart” and shortly after the break up of the Kiki Dee Band. The "Cage The Songbird" album, unreleased for so many years, serves as an intriguing bridge between Kiki's 1973-1975 recording output for Rocket Records, and her subsequent solo recordings.

The buckle-polishers and skirt-swirlers are back! Presenting 28 rare goodies from Louisiana and South East Texas. The variant of rock’n’roll that emanated from the Gulf Coast of South Louisiana and South East Texas in the 1950s-60s is as evocative of the area as chicken gumbo, crawfish étouffée and red beans and rice. The youthful Cajuns of the period threw themselves into r’n’r like teenagers across the globe, but had additional influences, not just the hillbilly and blues that created rockabilly, but the ethnic music of their parents and, most telling, the R&B sounds carried over the airwaves from New Orleans.

Label: Rocket Records (W.-Germany) | Cat.# 826 805-2 | Released: 1989 (1978-10-16)

"A Single Man", released in 1978, is the 12th studio album release for Elton John. It is the first album where Gary Osborne replaced Bernie Taupin as lyricist. It is also the only Elton John album to not have any tracks co-written by Bernie Taupin on the original cut. The album was released on 16 October 1978 by MCA in America, and by Rocket in the UK. Singles from the album were "Part-Time Love", October 1978; "Song for Guy", November 1978; and "Return to Paradise", 1979. "Song for Guy" was a near-global success, charting high everywhere except the US and Canada, where John's label, MCA Records, did not feel that it had hit potential. "A Single Man" was John's first album ever to be officially released in the former USSR. In the US, A Single Man was certified Gold in October 1978 and Platinum in November of the same year by the RIAA. Like with many of John's releases of the late-70s and the 1980s, it received generally mixed reviews from critics.

With his pink hair, sullen, expressionless face, and black clothes, harp blower Jason Ricci looks more art damaged emo kid than bluesman, but looks can be deceiving. Ricci tours relentlessly and has brought plenty of new fans to the genre with an approach that combines spacy, jam band meandering, the almost metallic guitar attack of Shawn Starski, and wide open arrangements that touch on jazz, rock, funk, Arab, punk, and, of course, blues…..

Blues / Rock'n'Roll / Memphis Blues

Gigantic eight record box, this comes the closest to documenting the wide breadth of blues recordings done by Sam Phillips at the Sun studios in Memphis during the early 50s. A landmark achievement.
This multi-disc set has most of the major blues classics of the late 1940's and 1950's that went on to spawn the rock era; from Ike Turner and Rocket 88 to Howlin' Wolf's best sides. Sam Phillips and Sun Records got every major player south of Chicago to record there sooner or later–and even some who had done work in Chicago came back to do work in the landmark Memphis studio (which is a GREAT tourist destination!).
