The Ex Terra series, presenting the most accurate reconstructions of prehistoric life, brings you the latest Jurassic denizen: the Camarasaurus. It's the relative and neighbor of the more famous long-necked sauropod dinosaurs, such as Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, and Brachiosaurus. But this creature is famous in its own right - if its face looks familiar, it's because its head was mistakenly used on Apatosaurus (Formerly known as Brontosaurus) reconstructions!
Camarasaurus had a boxy head, a fairly short and thick neck and tail (by sauropod standards) and may have been an ancestor of the titanosaurs, the type of sauropod that flourished in the latter half of the Age of Dinosaurs.
