Scientist burst onto the reggae scene in the early 80s with a reckless mixing style that seemed to outdo even King Tubby's wildest extravaganzas.

If maybe you're already into reggae and finding yourself drawn more into the 'roots & culture' area of dub, then there can't be a better place to start than with Scientist.

Utilizing old roots rhythms revitalized by the Roots Radics Band, and giving the songs a hard, but danceable edge, producer Henry ‘Juno’ Lawes and Barrington Levy together helped establish a whole new dancehall sound. 1980's Robin Hood, mixed at King Tubby’s by Scientist, merely affirmed what everyone in Jamaica already knew: That Levy was now the biggest star on the island, with a talent that was unbeatable.

With over 60,000 recordings to his name, Scientist (born Hopeton Overton Brown) is one of the most influential figures in dub. From Studio One to King Tubby’s, Channel One to Tuff Gong, he worked at Kingston’s premier studios, pioneering recording techniques and elevating the dub mix into an art form in his own right. Known as the ‘Dub Chemist’ for both his technical expertise and forward-thinking ideas, Scientist’s Night Dreamer session brings together musicians from across the London reggae scene, including The Instigators’ rhythm section Mafia (bass) and Fluxy (drums), Creation Rebel guitarist Tony Ruffcut, vocalist Donovan Kingjay, Jah Shaka keyboardist Greg Assing and saxophonist Finn Peters.

Mariah the Scientist has unleashed her new album RY RY WORLD, dropped on the 9th of July 2021. The anticipated project boasts features from Lil Baby and Young Thug.

After inking a new deal with Epic Records, Mariah the Scientist has dropped her first album through the label, To Be Eaten Alive. For the Atlanta-born rapper, who released her debut album in 2019, the new record feels like it’s been a long time coming. Over her years in the music industry, Mariah’s experimentation with R&B, songwriting and composition has never failed to impress. On To Be Eaten Alive, however, the songs are decidedly more thoughtful, reflective and representative of her growth as an artist.

20 Years of Jethro Tull is a 1988 boxed set which spans the first twenty years of Jethro Tull. It was issued as five LPs: Radio Archives, Rare Tracks, Flawed Gems, Other Sides of Tull, and The Essential Tull. It was simultaneously released as both a 3CD and a 3-cassette set, titled 20 Years of Jethro Tull: The Definitive Collection.

The Music for the Royal Fireworks (HWV 351) is a wind band suite composed by George Frideric Handel in 1749 under contract of George II of Great Britain for the fireworks in London's Green Park on 27 April 1749. It was to celebrate the end of the War of the Austrian Succession and the signing of the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle in 1748.
