English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 126 Pages | ISBN : 3031607007 |19.5 MB

This book, at first, explores the evolution of the IoT to SIoT and offers a comprehensive understanding of SIoT and trust management vis-à-vis SIoT. It subsequently envisages trust quantification models by employing key SIoT-specific trust features, including SIoT relationships (e.g., friendships, working relationships, and community-of-interest), direct observations, and indirect observations, to augment the idea of trust quantification of a SIoT object. Furthermore, diverse trust aggregation techniques, i.e., conventional weighted sum, machine learning, and artificial neural networks, are proposed so as to address the challenges of the trust aggregation. Finally, the book outlines the future research directions for emphasizing the importance of trustworthiness management in the evolving notion of the SIoT.

On-Chip Current Sensors for Reliable, Secure, and Low-Power Integrated Circuits by Rodrigo Possamai Bastos
English | EPUB | 2020 | 231 Pages | ISBN : 3030293521 | 29.39 MB

This book provides readers with insight into an alternative approach for enhancing the reliability, security, and low power features of integrated circuit designs, related to transient faults, hardware Trojans, and power consumption. The authors explain how the addition of integrated sensors enables the detection of ionizing particles and how this information can be processed at a high layer.

Research in the area of chemical and biochemical sensors and the development of respective applications is still growing rapidly. In the last decade it has become evident that the successful development of chemical and biochemical sensors resistant to the harsh conditions in the various routine applications calls for a cooperation between chemists and engineers. Thus, this book aims at instructing researcher and practitioners in both disciplines in a strictly systematic, interdisciplinary and practice-oriented way about the basic technology of chemical and biochemical sensors. This concise volume bridges the gap between the different "ways of thinking" in chemistry, physics and engineering. It provides a firm grounding for engineers, industrial and academic researcher in the field, for practitioners and novices as well as for advanced students.

Implantable sensing, whether used for transient or long-term monitoring of in vivo physiological, bio-electrical, bio-chemical and metabolic changes, is a rapidly advancing field of research and development. Underpinned by increasingly small, smart and energy efficient designs, they become an integral part of surgical prostheses or implants for both acute and chronic conditions, supporting optimised, context aware sensing, feedback, or stimulation with due consideration of system level impact.
