September grew out of the short-lived super-group project Jugoslovenska Pop Selekcija in September 1975, whose members included Tihomir Pop Asanovic-organ, Janez Boncina-vocals, guitar, Braco Doblekar-percussion, congas and Ratko Divjak- drums. Charley Novak on bass and formally educated musician Pero Ugrin on electric violin and trumpet joined soon for the recording of the first album, ironically titled "Zadnja avantura" (Eng. "The Last Adventure"). The album was recorded in February 1976 in Ljubljana and released shortly afterwards but passed largely unnoticed. This is in fact a pure gem of Yugoslavian jazz fusion that lacked popularity simply because there was no single hit song on it that would draw attention of the wider public…

September, the fifth album by Norwegian singer Rebekka Bakken, picks up where its Americana-influenced predecessor Morning Hours left off: co-produced by Malcolm Burn (Bakken's husband, who has worked with Emmylou Harris and Bob Dylan, among others), the record incorporates numerous folk and country elements while retaining Bakken's quiet and pensive songcraft. Bakken's band includes bassist Gail Ann Dorsey, guitarist Bill Dillon, and drummer Bill Dobrow, and apart from her original songs, September also features covers of Bruce Springsteen's "The Wrestler," Alphaville's "Forever Young," and Jane Siberry's "Love Is Everything."

Dead Can Dance is an Australian musical project formed in 1981 in Melbourne by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry. The band relocated to London, England, in May 1982. Australian music historian Ian McFarlane described Dead Can Dance's style as "constructed soundscapes of mesmerising grandeur and solemn beauty; African polyrhythms, Gaelic folk, Gregorian chant, Middle Eastern mantras, and art rock."Having disbanded in 1998, they reunited briefly in 2005 for a world tour and reformed in 2011, releasing a new album (Anastasis) and embarking on several tours.

The CD gets starts with perfectly layered instruments (by one musician). Done quite seamlessly. Yanek admired some one-man bands & this was his motivation. He succeeded in emulating them with his own bright songbook of light-hearted melodies. Many musicians were impressed with Paul McCartney’s first solo LP McCartney & especially “Maybe I’m Amazed,” which had Beatle qualities. But not every song was as innovative. McCartney often see-sawed between genius & mediocrity.
