"Sound of Sexy Soul" is the second album by American R&B/Soul vocal group The Delfonics, released on February 11, 1969 by Philly Groove label. The album was produced by Thom Bell. Like The Delfonics' debut album La La Means I Love You, The Sound of Sexy Soul is evenly split between new songs written by Bell and lead singer William Hart, and cover versions. The album's lead single, "Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide from Love)", peaked at #35 on the pop chart at the time of original release. The Sound of Sexy Soul continues the development of the smooth, symphonic soul sound pioneered by Bell on La La Means I Love You and is regarded as a classic example of early-period Philadelphia soul.

Debauchery is the story of a housewife, Ami, who finds herself getting bored of the tender loving she gets from her doting husband and decides to try for a little action on the side. Enter the Madame Machiko Society Club, a daytime brothel that caters to wealthy clientele and employs the odd horny housewife. At first, Ami is timid and scared by the prospect, but her increasingly adventurous libido continues leading her back to Madame Machiko, where she experiences all kinds of sexual depravity, including a whole lot of humiliation, and learns that she likes it. Don Pasquale was Donizetti's last comedy and it's a funny, sometimes subtle work, with finely drawn characters. Malatesta and Norina are playful and sarcastic and their music reflects this; Ernesto is a familiar opera-buffa tenor/lover in his outrage and ardency, and his sweet second-act aria has a nice, mock-maudlin aura. Pasquale also is somewhat of a stereotype. But Donizetti adds depth to their personalities and the opera is far from just a farce: it has things to say about self-delusion, self-knowledge, trust, old-age, playacting, and people's feelings…
