Akiko Yano is a Japanese pop and jazz musician and singer. She was born Akiko Suzuki (鈴木 顕子 Suzuki Akiko) in Tokyo and raised in Aomori, Aomori, and later began her singing career in the mid-1970s. Her vocals and singing style have been compared to British singer Kate Bush.

Wo wir schon bei Liedern sind: 1736 wurde im Katalog zur Frankfurter und Leipziger Ostermesse folgende Neuheit angezeigt: »Musicalisches Gesangbuch von 950 auserlesenen geistl. Liedern und Arien. Die unbekandten Melodien sind von Herrn Capellmeister Bach entweder neu verfertigt, oder nach Befinden verbessert und so dann sauber in Kupffer gestochen worden.«

Swing de Paris besteht aus der in Buenos Aires wohnhaften Geigerin Sophie Lüssi, den zwei Luzerner Musikern Felix Brühwiler (Gitarre) und Claudio Strebel (Kontrabass) und dem in Zürich ansässigen Glarner David Beglinger (Gesang und Schlagzeug). Die Band orientiert sich am Jazz Manouche – oftmals auch Gypsy Swing oder Zigeunerjazz genannt - des legendären Hot Club de France. Daher rührt auch der Name Swing de Paris. Die wichtigsten Vertreter dieser Szene waren der 1953 verstorbene Ausnahmegitarrist Django Reinhardt zusammen mit Geiger Stéphane Grappelli. The prizewinning Boston Early Music Festival, joined by the choicest soloists, once again presents a spectacular Baroque opera discovery with Christoph Graupner’s Antiochus and Stratonica. Graupner composed the musical play L’Amore Ammalato, Die kranckende Liebe, oder: Antiochus und Stratonica during his time as the harpsichordist at the Gänsemarkt Opera in Hamburg. The core subject of the opera is the love of the Seleucid prince Antiochus for his stepmother Stratonica. This match brings with it highly dramatic moments as well as deeply sad ones inasmuch as Antiochus is supposed to have an incurable illness – but then at the end three old and new romantic couples appear on the stage and everything comes to a happy ending.

Mika Nakashima (中島 美嘉, Nakashima Mika, born February 19, 1983) is a Japanese singer and actress. Five of her studio albums, one of her mini-albums and one of her compilation albums have reached number one in Japan's Oricon album chart. She also embarked on an acting career, most notably as Nana Osaki in the live action film adaptations of Nana. She has sold over 10 million records in Japan.
