Van Der Graaf Generator Formed in the UK in 1967 by Peter Hammill, Chris Judge Smith and Nick Pearne (now deceased). After a period of activity during the 1970s, the band broke up (although not for the first time) in 1978, seemingly for good.

Van der Graaf Generator were one of the most original and inspiring bands of the 1970s. When Peter Hamill, Hugh Banton, Guy Evans and David Jackson announced their reformation in 2005 to perform concerts and to record a new album, it took many by surprise, but the group proved they were still making relevant and truly progressive music.
Their reunion would not be a short-lived affair, as VdGG continued to record a series of excellent studio and live albums, despite the departure of David Jackson in late 2005 following the release of the album ‘Present’. Over the next ten years VdGG issued a string of albums and toured as the mood took them.

In February 2022 Van der Graaf Generator embarked on a UK tour which had been rescheduled several times due to the Covid pandemic. The final show on these dates took place at The Forum in Bath on March 1st and the event was captured by a film and recording crew. ‘The Bath Forum Concert’ is the first live CD and film fully controlled by the band and it captures Peter Hammill, Hugh Banton and Guy Evans at their finest performing vintage tracks such as ‘Masks’, ‘Childlike Faith In Childhoods End’, ‘La Rossa’, ‘Man Erg’ and ‘House With No Door’ along with newer pieces such as ‘Interference Patterns’, ‘Every Bloody Emperor’, ‘Go’, ‘Alfa Berlina’ and ‘Room 1210’. This release features the entire concert, mixed by Stephen W Tayler, and includes two CDs and a region free High-Definition Blu Ray video with 5.1 Surround Sound and an NTSC / Region Free DVD of this stunning concert film.

This is a gem! The vocals are ripped as usual, some songs are screamed but yet others feature melodic lines. The album has a punk-stoner sound with a desert rock attitude. All the songs are written by Nick Oliveri “ Rex Everything”. The album features the cover of “Dog Food” by Iggy Pop with Dave Grohl on drums. Nick knows how to surprise us all the time!
