Recorded with pianist Russ Freeman's ensembles in 1954 and 1956, this is the archetypal Baker release, and the first one to get if you're testing the waters. Of all Chet Baker recordings, this is the original from the mid-50s, and it remains the best. No quirky phrasings, just pure Chet. Don't confuse it with 'Chet Baker Sings and Plays,' a later recording with similar arrangements which seems much less fresh than the original, slower, chet's voice a bit strained and not as sincere, if that's the right word. His trumpet lags in many instances; and the piano work I found to be lacking. If you want to start a Chet collection, first get the original, CHET BAKER SINGS.

Teenage Bottlerocket is the Old School Pop Punk from Laramie, Wyoming, formed in 2001. Alternative Press featured them as a "Band You Need To Know". Their music is heavily influenced by Kody Templeman's previous band, The Lillingtons, and earlier pop punk acts such as The Ramones, Screeching Weasel, etc. This collection is full of straight forward punk rock gems, laced with the unforgettable melodies that have become the calling card of Teenage Bottlerocket. In short - this is a freakin' fantastic stuff, recommended!

This wonderful Jerry Lee Lewis live album belongs in the collection of every rock and roller.

First and only caveat: Jerry looks bad, old – it shook me up !! Considering the life he's led, the hell raisin', the drugs, the drinkin', the fighting… Well, next to Keith Richards he's been #2 on the Next Rock Star To Die List since the the 1970s, and he almost did die more than once. And it shows, but Jerry can still play the keys off a piano; by the end of the concert he's rockin' up a storm with the best version of Roll Over Beethoven I've ever heard! That song alone is worth the price of this DVD. It's a long concert too, running 1 hour and 42 minutes and some. The bonus features are short and sweet, but who cares with all that great music………..
