The story is set in 1930s Mississippi and blends elements of Southern Gothic, vampire mythology, and blues.Ludwig Göransson created an atmospheric, blues-inspired soundtrack to emphasize the film’s dark and mystical tone. He used traditional instruments such as guitars and harmonicas, along with modern electronic elements, to craft a unique sound. Additionally, the film features tracks by well-known artists, including James Blake, Don Toliver, Brittany Howard, and Raphael Saadiq.
